She's Fun If...

Hey everyone in the blogosphere! I definitely miss writing but of course work & life is ALWAYS taking over…but I had a day off today to refresh myself & I decided to produce a blog post. Well, I must warn you that this post is not going to be about the usual stuff I write about such as makeup collections, fashion, or 2^nd lines…it is about my nipple piercings & my experience!!! (I am imagining my readers saying things like “OMG” right now, lol). I am warning you that some the content in this post will be “literately graphic” (if that’s even a word or phrase, lol) so if you are not a mature minded person, this is not the post for you. So if you would like to know about my experience on this matter, continue to read.

So if you are following me on Instagram (@indi_cnndoll), I have been posting some pics about nipple piercings such as the pic of the bold hottie Amber Rose with the caption “She’s no fun if her nips ain’t done”. So to confirm any doubt, yes, I have my nipples pierced. I’ve been having my piercings for 5 weeks now & I absolutely love my new body piercings.

The Reason

I have wanted my nipples pierced for a VERY LONG TIME (10 years to be exact) & I always thought they were sexy & feminine. When I was with my 1^st boyfriend, we talked about the thought & I was talked out of the thought but it was always in the back of my mind that this is something that I really want. In that time (that I didn’t want nips done), I did a lot of research on the piercings such as gauge size, the after care of the piercings, the procedure, what happens if it gets infected…you know the things you NEED to know before you get this done to your body. Not until almost 2 months ago, one of my female followers on IG posted a pic up saying she did it with the “see no evil” emoji & the tongue out emoji. I was like oh snap, I finally have someone to ask about this experience. I reached out to her & she was ever so nice to tell me about her experience which made me excited & nervous. So with curiosity in my heart & mind & a pending paycheck on the way, I texted my female friend & future piercing buddy to ask her have she gotten her nipples pierced yet because she has had multiple piercings. She said no & I asked her about having a “piercing date”, lol. She laughed & she said that she was nervous but excited.  She was not the only one that was feeling that way. When we chose the day to get done, my stomach was in knots…but I was ready.

The Day of…

The day of the “piercing date”, I was a nervous wreck. It was a Saturday. I had to work a closing shift at work & as the day turned into night, my nerves were getting the best of me. I was low key hyperventilating & I had went to the bathroom like 5 times. I was texting my friend & she said she was uber nervous & that her hands are sweating, lol. In my head, I was like “what the hell…I shouldn’t do this…I am scared!!!” but I have been waiting a decade for this moment. I shook the nervousness off & said to myself, “Fuck it, I am doing this…”. I got off from work, came home to take a shower, & slipped on a bandeau topped maxi dress without my strapless bra (I didn’t wear a strapless bra because I figured it would be much easier to pull up after I get pierced than “hooking” my bra back on & risking hitting it). I called my friend, she picked me up, & we was on the way to the piercing shop.

We listened to some bounce music (R&B music with a hip hop dance beat that started in New Orleans) to calm our nerves & we were amping ourselves up so we wouldn’t be so scared. Bre, my awesome female friend asked if I was ready for the pain…I was thinking that it was going to be the most horrifying, bone chilling pain…so to answer the question, HELL NO I AM NOT!!! It was too late to turn back, we was already in front of the piercing shop.

We walked up the stairs into the piercing shop (Imperial Tattoos & Piercings in Chalmette, LA is the shop I went to) & the guy greeted us & asked what we came in for today (he was a cool guy). I told the guy that I wanted my nipples pierced. He asked if I wanted barbells or captive rings & I chose the barbells (because I read that they heal slightly faster & I think they are cuter that the rings). The guy asked to see my ID & I filled out a consent form. After I completed the consent form, I paid the guy (which was $60), & I waited as the guy set everything up. “Now, it’s too late to turn back…I am excited for u & nervous” said Bre. The guy called my name, me & Bre walked to the piercing area. Everything was CLEAN & STERILE (THAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART ABOUT THE HEALTH OF THE PIERCING) & he had gloves on. All the tools he had were brand new! I asked him have he have any complaints from customers about the nipple piercings. He told me that his pierced clients complained about always being stimulated. I laughed & he definitely made the experience comfortable. I pulled down the top of my dress & he jokingly said “oh you did that fast…”. We all laughed as I stood up& he prepped my nipples with a numbing solution & marked the “pierced” spot on my nipples. I sat down, he grabbed my nipple with forceps, & he quickly pushed the needle & I was officially pierced…well, at least my left boob was pierced. He changed his gloves & moved to the right boob & did the same thing. I honestly didn’t scream, grunted, or cried. I just closed my eyes really tight & it was over. He cleaned my boobs from the excess blood (I didn’t bleed that much) & he covered my piercings with a bandage. He gave me an after care sheet & told me to call him if I have any questions & concerns about my new piercings. After I got pierced, Bre said she couldn’t do it…lol. I was like oh man…but I finally got pierced!!!! I was so surprised, excited, & happy!  After a decade, I got my nips done…yay!!!! After that, I went to Wal Mart to buy my aftercare supplies (including a sports bra to sleep in), me & Bre just enjoyed the rest of the night talking & laughing about what I just did.

The Pain

This is probably the most important part of the post…the pain. From a scale from to 1 to 10 (1 being like minor ouch to 10 being oh my fucking gosh, that shit hurts!!!), the pain with the left boob was a 2-3 while the right boob was 4-5. I think the reason why the left boob hurt less is because I wasn’t expecting the pain (if that makes any sense). That night I took some Tylenol for pain because my nipples were throbbing in pain (kinda like a light menstrual cramp). The morning after I took some Tylenol but it was as a precaution if I was going to be in pain.

The Aftercare

The after care is simple…I actually follow the same instructions that I use to take care of my nose piercing. Here’s the instructions that my piercer gave to me before leaving:

·       Wash your hands EVERYTIME when handling your piercing. This method will keep dirt, bacteria, germs, etc. from your piercing & it will keep infections away.

·       4-6 times a day clean crusties from around the opening/piercing with a sterile saline solution aka contact lenses solution soaked q-tip. DO NOT PICK CRUSTIES!!!!!

·       Twice a day clean with clear fragrance free anti bacterial soap (I use Dial Body Wash or Ivory Body Wash, DO NOT USE HAND SOAP) with a q-tip. I do this in the shower & while I am bathing the rest of my body, I let the water just rinse the soap off of the piercings. After completely rinsing myself, I rinse my piercings again & rotate my jewelry gently. THE MORE GENTLE YOU ARE WITH ROTATING YOUR JEWELRY, THE LESS IT WILL HURT.

·       NEVER  use alcohol, peroxide, or ointment.

·       You will have some discharge from your piercings, don’t worry, this is normal.

·       Avoid pools, lakes, & hot tubs for at least one month.

·       Purchase a sports bra to sleep in for about two weeks or so.

·       DO NOT let anyone kiss, lick, or suck on your freshly pierced nipples.

The Final Thought

I actually love my piercings. If you want to get your nipples pierced, I say “Go For It!!!!”. Just follow the instructions of your piercer, & enjoy your new body jewelry.

Guess Who's Back? Sorry For The Wait

Hey everybody!!! I am soooooooo sorry for the long delay with writing a new blog post...life has been taking over & I had no time to say nor post anything. I can't even remember my last post (was it in November??)...but no worries, I have a NEW phone & I downloaded the "Blogger" app so I am definitely to try to keep up with new blog posts. 

Well, I have made another year older & wiser in February (Valentine's Day to be exact). I really didn't do anything but chilled at home. I didn't "turn up" because I really don't drink but I did a little shopping (my version of a "turn up", lol). I managed to get my hair done by the amazing hair style Mandy but to many people she is known as "The Queen of Kash" (@TheQueenofKash on Instagram). She is definitely a talented lady & she is a sweetheart. This is some pics of when I 1st got my hair done. 

    

I am thinking about changing the color...what color should I change it to? The answer is still pending on that one...

The past months I have packed on more weight. I tried my favorite jeans & the jeans could go any higher than my thighs. I was kinda shocked but when I stepped on a scale to see what my weight was...I made the conscious decision to start working out & monitor what I am eating. I have cut back on drinking sodas, trying to stay away from the fried foods, & I joined Anytime Fitness. I have been working out only a few weeks but I am starting to see a few results.

RiRi Loves MAC Collection (My Shopping Experience)

*yawns* Hey everyone! Since I can not sleep (it's 4AM CST where I am at) & I have been itching to write a post, I think this is the perfect time to write one. So, with no introduction or no hesitation, here it goes...

As some of you may or may not know, the edgy pop/R&B singer Rihanna partnered up with MAC to release a collection by MAC & boy, oh boy, it have been something to wait for this collection. When I first seen the collection about RiRi Loves Mac collaboration collection, I will admit...I was not impress to say the least. I know how edgy the singer is & in my opinion, it did not reflect nothing about her...so with that being said, I was not going to buy it. After a few months & one night I was last night lipstick shopping, I see Rihanna & MAC releasing the lipstick called "RiRi Woo" on the MAC website. I was like hmmm, I might have to check this out when I wake up. So that day, when I made it to work & I went to buy the "RiRi Woo", the damn lipstick was sold out...it seem to sold out in minutes (but it actually sold out in 3 hours). I was in total disbelief & that's when I knew that this was real ish...Rihanna had fans & makeup lovers alike trying to get their hands on this overly popular lipstick.

After a few weeks, makeup bloggers, makeup lovers, & MAC fans were going ape shit crazy because they claim that "RiRi Woo" & one of the popular red lipsticks "Ruby Woo" was EXACTLY the same...the only difference is that "RiRi Woo" has Rihanna signature carved into the lipstick & that "Riri Woo" was drier (due to the lipstick had a matte finish). After first, I was like "Damn, they [MAC] did it again!". MAC does have a reputation for using older products & selling it again like it's a brand new product. After a few days of  reading unhappy posts/comments about the lipstick, I found out Rihanna had a full collection & re-release of "RiRi Woo". When I seen the pics of the lipsticks "Heaux" (the berry colored lipstick) & "RiRi Boy" (the midtone lavender lipstick), I fell in love. The "Heaux" lipstick was my favorite from looking at the pics alone...it was so damn sexy! I had to get that "Heaux" [lipstick]...no ifs, ands, & asses about it! LOL! I wasn't worrying about "Riri Woo" anymore.

After searching for the date of re-release of the "RiRi Woo" & the rest of the collection, I made it my business to have some money in the bank & have my alarm set to wake me up to buy this lipstick. Monday, June 2nd (the day before the collection launched), I set two alarms to make sure I get up early so I could log on to the website to order my product...I wasn't trying to miss out on my opportunity to get the lipstick that I really fell in love with...& then it happened...MAC pushed RiRi Loves MAC collection back until June 18th. WHAT!?!?!?! I woke up early for freakin' nothing!!!! I was cutting up like MAC could hear my pain...smh.

The days drawing closer to the new launch date of the collection, I talked about the makeup collection with my male friend about what I was going to purchase from the makeup collection. He asked "Damn, bae...is it that serious behind lipstick?" My answer: "Hell yea, it is! Makeup collections are equivalent to you & Jordans.". After he let that thought marinate in his mind, he shrugged & agreed.

Tuesday, June 18th...the day all makeup lovers (including me) been waiting for...RIRI LOVES MAC COLLECTION IS GOING TO BE RELEASED at 12 noon (11 am CST)! I had to go to work late that day so I had some time shop & go back to sleep. I woke up at 10:55 & logged on to MAC website, waiting for the RiRi collection to show up to reveal all the RiRi carved makeup goodies she is ready for us to go crazy for & buy. I had in my mind that I was going to buy only two things from the collection. Personally, the blush duo & the drops didn't peak my interest so I passed on that. So, at 11am...it was on...& then...the website crashed. With the "what the hell" look displayed on my face, I simply closed out the window & logged back on to the MAC website. It seems like it took forever to load the site on my phone. By 11:04am, it was fully loaded & added "Heaux" & "Riri Boy" to my cart. I pressed the checkout button & instead of going straight to check out section, I had to be "processed" aka waiting in line. I definitely was happy that I was jamming to some good music while waiting because I was probably going to go crazy waiting. On the screen, it instructed me do not close out the window, refresh, or go back while your order is processing. I felt like I was in Wal-Mart waiting in the 20 items or less line & the line is still long as hell. My processing screen changed about 4 times & by 11:15am, I was in the check out section. I was half way done. I checked out using my PayPal account & it was very fast. When I finally made it to the "submit final order" section of the website, I was so excited...I felt like I was at the end of the race. By 11:28am, my order was paid & my confirmation email was sent. I was so happy that my order was not back ordered, I knew so many people was buying this collection. My total shopping experience was not as horrible as I thought it was. One of my Instagram friends said it took her 3 hours to process her order...I was like "come on, now...that is crazy!". So with "RiRi Woo" on my mind, I logged back on to MAC website & ordered "RiRi Woo" lipstick. When I ordered the "RiRi Woo" lipstick, from adding the lipstick to my cart to final check out took me only 8 minutes. I still don't understand why it took some people so long...I would have gave up on buying from the collection. So next week, I will be receiving my lipsticks & I can't wait to swatch them. Sorry For The Wait

Hey everyone!!! I know I have not been able to deliver you all a blog post in a while & I am sorry...I wanted to say so much to all of you & tell all of you what has been going with me...but I am here, so what's up?!?!? LOL!!!


First & foremost, I have changed...well, only my age & my look has changed to be specifically correct. Valentine's Day marked my 27th birthday & a mark of a new chapter in my life....I have hair...well weave...but it is mine, lol! I really like it.

After that hair, I changed it to a lighter color...

This is my current color & look...I decided 2-3 weeks before my birthday that I wanted a new look...even though others told me I should try something that involves long hair & I went crazy on them ...sorry about that :/. I had got in touch with Tater a week before my birthday to set up an appointment....here we are!!!! He is so amazing & he is a real cool guy...

Secondly, I have been working hard...I mean working long hours. I have a retail job now so blogging have been on my mind but when I get home, the only thing I have on my mind is a shower & my bed. I am surprisingly off tonight & I really procrastinated enough...I had to update you all about me (even though I am not that important, lol). 

Third, with having a decent job...I have been shopping my butt off (especially clothes shopping). I don't remember ever shopping for clothes as much as I am doing now. I will make a future blog post about plus size boutiques. I can say that one of my favorite boutique is Closet For Kurves Boutique. Mrs. A. White (that's the owner of CFK Boutique) has awesome clothing for us ladies that is "overflowing with sexiness" aka plus size vixens, so click on the link above & tell me what do you think.
